Confirmed arm's-length transaction prices from actual closed bulk spirits sales within the most recent 30–90 days. This is the most definitive signal — what buyers and sellers have actually agreed to, not what anyone is asking. When all four inputs are available, the weights above apply. When fewer sources exist for a specific lot, weights redistribute proportionally — no single input ever exceeds 55% of the composite. This prevents any one source from dominating the estimate and maintains integrity across varying data availability.
Why the Variance Number Matters More Than the Price
Every listing in the Victory Spirits Barrel Lab™ displays not just a wholesale price and a VRV™ estimate, but a variance — the percentage spread between the two. This number is, in many ways, more useful than either figure alone.

What VRV™ Is Not
VRV™ is an analytical estimate. It is not a guarantee of market value, a prediction of future price movement, or a liquidation value. Individual lot condition, exact barrel count, warehouse access, and transfer logistics all affect realized prices and are not captured in the composite.
VRV™ also does not account for buyer-specific factors — tax basis, storage costs, financing terms, or the premium a particular brand may assign to a specific origin story. These are judgment calls that belong to the buyer.
